Retailers – Get Involved

The close relationships we have built with retailers are the key to our success and we are always looking for new stores to work with. If you’d like to get involved with Gifts Guide UK we have put together a short guide to how you can work closer with us if you run an affiliate campaign on Webgains or Affiliate Window.

Banners

We run two different sized site-wide banners, 300x250px and 468x60px. Our banner system is intuitive and selects which banners to display on which pages based on average click through rates. The higher you click-through rate, the more times your banners will be shown.

We’re always happy to add new banners into the system to see how they perform, so if you are able to provide us with ready made banners to plug into the system, please send them through.

Typically we have found that banners based around a seasonal event perform best, for example: Christmas, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Easter and Fathers Day. During these periods the only banners we will show will be those related to these seasonal events.

As a side note, 468x60px banners seem to be readily available in masses, yet 300x250px banners seem to be few and far between and we’d be keen on talking to retailers who will create these for us.

Weekly Reports

In order to merchandise Gifts Guide UK effectively we run a number of our own analytical tools which show us our best performing products, etc.

We request that if possible retailers send us a weekly report giving us two streams of information about their overall sales:

  • Top 50 Best Selling products for the previous week based on revenue generated.
  • Top 50 Best Selling products for the previous week based on quantity of products sold.

This information is kept confidential and is only used to further maximise the revenue streams generated for you from our website. No actual sales information is required, just product name and URL in a list from 1-50 with 1 being the best performing and 50 being the 50th best performing.

We are certainly happy to sign any confidentiality agreements or non-disclosure forms in order for you to send us this information.

New Products

Keep us updated with your new products, one of the most frequent questions we’re asked is “why haven’t you featured this product yet? Its fantastic!” and usually the answer is because you haven’t told us about it.

We regularly check the new arrivals section of retailers however it’s much easier for us if you drop us an email with details of your new products and a link to the product page. If you have an internal email that announces new products to your company, consider adding us to this list so we are able to review new products as soon as you launch them.

Exclusive Copy

We like our job to be made easy, so if you really want to get a product reviewed on Gifts Guide UK, a well written review we can use exclusively goes down quite well. We reserve the right to edit any copy sent to us, however we will only use copy that has been written exclusively for us and no other publications are given permission to run it.

If you do send us an exclusive review, please also attach a high resolution image of the product being reviewed.

Offer Codes / Promotions

Whilst we have no intention to become a discount code repository, we do know that everybody loves a good offer. We’ll always keep an eye out to see what promotions and offer codes retailers make available, however you’ll grab our attention a lot easier if you’re offering us an exclusive promotion that we can offer to our users.

We’ll generally promote exclusive discounts on our homepage and if banners can be provided in the sizes of 300x250px and 468x60px, we’re happy to use these site-wide as well. We also promote exclusive discounts in our monthly newsletter.

Whether it’s a % discount, amount off a minimum spend, BOGOF – we are happy to discuss any exclusive or generic offers with retailers that we are able to promote.

Competition Prizes

Competitions are a great way of engaging users and getting your brand noticed. We regularly feature competitions on Gifts Guide UK in partnership with retailers. In return for offering us competition prizes to give away on Gifts Guide UK, we go the added distance to ensure your brand gets noticed:

  • All competitions will be co-branded, including the retailer’s logo and a link through to their site.
  • Competitions will receive homepage and site-wide promotion.
  • Competitions are featured in our monthly newsletter.
  • Datashare is available for larger prize donations.

High Res Product Images

We won’t feature any product that we cannot get a good, high quality image for, as we wish to maintain a professional feel throughout the site and poor quality images certainly give the wrong impression, ideally we’ll use 300DPI images created for PR purposes.

We are having particular trouble finding high resolution images for experience days, if you able to provide these then please get in touch.

We always enjoy meeting retailers to discuss how we can work more closely to increase exposure of their brands on Gifts Guide UK. We’re based in Peterborough, however do visit London quite frequently so if you’d like to meet for a beer and have a chat, get in touch.
